2014 Porsche 911 GT3The Porsche’s 911 is an iconic model of the German brand and have a long and very valuable history. The model was first introduced in 1963 and the model ruled over the market alone since 1998 and in 1999 Porsche offered its GT3 version for enhanced fuel consumption. The GT3 is the version that just completed the lineup of high end performance cars. In 2013, the Porsche offered the new generation of the performance efficient GT3. The new generation GT3 has been just an amazing metal machine that is improved and updated with each and every aspect to meet the requirements of modern day consumers.

Exterior and Dimensions

The focal point of the German brand for the new generation GT3 was to reduce weight but like all the other models in the 911 lineup Porsche also redesigned the exterior of the car to make it more heart touching. The 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 will have the same hybrid steel-aluminum construction used in the current 911 Carrera but will have a range of independent and unique front and rear parts. The new 2014 911 GT3 gets a sportier look with a fixed large rear wing.

Length
Width 178.9 Inches
Height 49.96 Inches
Wheelbase 96.7 Inches
Curb Weight 3,152.6 Lbs

Porsche claimed that the new generation 2014 GT3 has shed about 13% weight compared to the previous generation. The new generation GT3 sits on standard 20 inch center lock forged aluminum wheels. The wheels are offered in a single design but in three colors, titanium gray (standard) traditional silver painted wheels (optional) and optional Black wheels but unfortunately the black are not good cosmetics for the GT3 in the opinion of many experts and even GT3 engineers.

Interior

Porsche didn’t disclose any information about the interior of the 2014 911 GT3 however, they have revealed an image of the inside of the car showing a high end and well appointed cabin. In the image it is very clear that the new generation will have new Recaro sports seats, intensive use of Alcantara, a three spoke steering wheel which is based on the Carrera S but has its own revised mounted controls and mapping. Though, much detail are not available however, we can expect a high end and technologically advanced interior for the new generation 2014 GT3 just like the previous models. Safety Features

The new generation 2014 911 GT3 gets class leading safety features including Porsche Stability Management that adds electronic brake force distribution, antilock disc brakes, electronic stability control, traction control, dual front side airbags, thorax airbags and driver and passenger airbags.

Powertrain and Performance

At the heart of the new generation 2014 911 GT3, Porsche fits a water cooled 3.8 liter six cylinder boxer engine that produces 475 horsepower and 325 lb ft of torque. The engine is mated with Porsche’s Dual Clutch transmission (PDK) that sends power to the rear wheel. The engine is quite powerful that lifts the car from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds at a top speed up to 195 mph. The Powertrain of the new 2014 GT3 is based on the Carrera S but has new titanium connecting rods, forged pistons, modified valve gears and crankshaft. The new GT3 gets a sports exhaust system that features two front silencers, one rear silencer and two catalytic converters which discharges in the central twin tract tailpipes. The large volume of the new exhaust system will reduce the exhaust backpressure to boost up power output.
