Nissan Rows the Latest B-Segment Car into Limelight

Nissan B-Segment CarThe latest from Nissan’s factory line made its debut in front of thousands of spectators in England, only this time the car was not driven into the limelight; it was rowed in by British famous Olympians. The all new B- segment car was introduced on particularly tailored Note Boat.

The event was organized at the Eton Dorney Lake and the boat was steered by rowers: Helen Glover, Sophie Hosking and Polly Swann. The car is introduced initially for the European market, and Nissan has already received 3,860 orders. The car is equipped with a sliding rear seat, and the one introduced to the media had a special custom seat for the rower. The rear doors could open to 90 degrees, which allowed the other two rowers to fit in. The special cameras fitted in the car came in handy while rowing, as the athletes were facing the opposite direction. They used the four cameras, one each at front and rear while two at the door mirrors on either side. Combining these cameras provide a unique helicopter view. This system also allows moving object detection, lane departure warning and blind spot warning.

Helen Glover MBE was happy with the system and lavished it with praise. Talking to the press, she said that she wishes to have such camera system in her races, as this will allow her to have a better understating of rival positions.

Nissan’s Note Hatchback is a funky blend of style, comfort and technology. The car is powered by a 1.2 liter petrol engine capable of producing 80 hp and 110 Nm (81 lb-ft) of torque. The other variants also come with a 1.5-liter DCi diesel engine.

The model is produced at Nissan Sunderland Plant and is specifically targeting the European style obsessed clients. The latest from Nissan is bound to create a stir in the market as it has already touched the benchmark of nearly 4,000 orders.
