GM Celebrated the Production of Millionth Cadillac at Lancing Grand River

2013 Cadillac ATS compact luxury sport sedansAt the Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant the millionth Cadillac built on 16th September 2013. The millionth Cadillac is the 2014 model year that will go on sale later in October 2013. The Lancing Grand River Plant opened in 2001 and since then the plant is manufacturing rear wheel drive cars. All the CTS models are built at this plant as well as the credit of manufacturing the award winning ATS sports sedan is also going to the LGR plant.

The senior vice president Global Cadillac, Bob Ferguson said, “One million Michigan-made Cadillacs is a great milestone in Lansing and for luxury car-building in America. Lansing Grand River is an essential ingredient of Cadillac’s growth. It is a benchmark for luxury car manufacturing in North America, which takes another step forward today with the launch of the new CTS.” Since 2001, the Lancing Plant has exported from Michigan to 11 destinations across the world.

The millionth 2014 Cadillac is painted in Red Obsession Tintcoat and has really impressive exterior feature extra luxury and sophistication. The millionth Cadillac is the member of the third generation of the CTS sedan that is now more spacious, comfortable, lightweight and has an agile and fun driving dynamics. The CTS sedan has a unique place in the segment of a midsize luxury sedan.

During the past three years, the GM invested over $190 million in the Lancing Grand River Plant in the manufacturing of the Cadillac ATS and more than $88 million for the CTS.
