Size matters: advantages of driving a big car

driving a big carWhile there will always be advantages and disadvantages to driving a big car, there is no doubt that they have become increasingly popular in recent years.

Whether they are used as a work vehicle or just for ferrying around the family, a big vehicle bestows a number of benefits upon the owner that it would be irresponsible to ignore. With this in mind, we take a look at the five most important advantages of driving a larger vehicle.

1. Space

This is possibly the most important advantage of them all, as the ability to fit virtually everything and anything you’ll need at any one time in to the car is incredibly helpful. Not only does it mean that you don’t have to shuttle things between destinations because of a lack of space, but you’ll also be able to store essentials in the boot without it feeling cramped or cluttered.

2. Passengers

Bigger cars are usually suited to those that will be driving the family from place to place a considerable amount and will require the additional space afforded by an MPV car such as Grand Voyager.

If you regularly find yourself doing the school run and require the extra space to fit friends and peers in, a big car will help you a great deal.

3. Power

Generally, a larger vehicle requires more power, often making it more enjoyable to drive and helping in a wide variety of situations. Whether you need to take your new Jeep Grand Cherokee off-road to reach your destination or are tired of struggling up steep inclines that regularly cause your small car to struggle, a big car is often the answer to your power problems.

4. Safety

Though safety will vary from model to model, it is generally accepted that a larger car will prove safer in the long run, giving you much more protection in the case of an accident.

Their larger frames and tougher builds usually provide passengers with that sense of safety that is important to anyone travelling in a car.

5. Comfort

Finally, larger vehicles are far more comfortable than their smaller equivalents, giving every type of passenger the space they require to get comfortable and stretch their legs.

This can be hugely important factor, especially if you regularly make long journeys and you can always update your trim levels to enhance the comfort even further.
